Zaven Sargsian is a dynamic attorney with years of experience representing companies and individuals in complex litigation matters throughout various practices areas and industries. His clients have included start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. He also advises emerging companies as outside general counsel, with several hundreds of hours of experience in dataset and copyright licensing agreements.
Prior to founding SARG LAW, Zaven worked as an attorney for Ballard Spahr LLP (2014-2018), Snell & Wilmer (2018-2023), and as senior counsel for Buchalter PC (2023-2025). As described in the SARG LAW practice areas, Zaven has particular experience litigating intellectual property claims (copyright infringement and misappropriation of trade secrets), complex contract disputes (across various industries), securities law (including cryptocurrency), real estate litigation (e.g., lien priority and validity), insurance law (duty to defend/indemnify and bad faith), and First Amendment issues (e.g., defamation, anti-SLAPP laws). He has also assisted clients with privacy and data security compliance issues, and spent hundreds of hours drafting and negotiating dataset licensing and commercial agreements.
In addition to his experience, he is a trusted member of the legal community. Most recently, he was appointed to the Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court (2024-2026).
